OUR HISTORY
Abundant Life Baptist Church began as Allison Avenue Baptist Church in 1902 with 57 people in attendance. As a result of prayer meetings and the support of the First Baptist Church, two parcels of land were purchased at the corner of Allison and Maple Avenues. It was here that a chapel was built, and the ministry began.
Our first pastor, Rev. W.M. Courson, served the congregation until 1908. In 1904 a parsonage was added to the church building which originally accommodated 200 people. In 1923 it became necessary to enlarge the church with a two-story addition.
The excitement and success of Allison Baptist Church spread throughout the area, leading to the founding of the First Baptist Church of Canonsburg and the First Baptist Church of Bentleyville.
Due to limited facilities and increasing growth, In March 1991, the church purchased five acres of land on its present site on Cameron Road. Through prayer and God's goodness, Allison Avenue Baptist Church moved to its new location in January 2000 with a new name, Abundant Life Baptist Church (ALBC), and a fresh excitement to reach many people for Jesus.
During the years since, many people have have come to know Jesus and have grown in their faith through the various ministries of ALBC.
Under the new leadership of Pastor Robb Williams, we are looking ahead to continue the impassioned ministries of ALBC to achieve both our purpose and mission:
Purpose: To glorify God and make him known (I Cor. 6:20; 10:31; 2 Cor. 4:15).
Mission: Lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:35-45; Luke 19:1-10).
