Abundant Life Baptist Church began as Allison Avenue Baptist Church in 1902 with 57 people in attendance. As a result of prayer meetings and the support of the First Baptist Church, two parcels of land were purchased at the corner of Allison and Maple Avenues. It was here that a chapel was built, and the ministry known as Allison Avenue Baptist Church began.
The first pastor, Rev. W.M. Courson, served the congregation until 1908. In 1904 a parsonage was added to the church building which originally accommodated 200 people. In 1923 it became necessary to enlarge the church, so a two-story addition was added.
The excitement and success of Allison Baptist Church spread throughout the area, leading to the
founding of the First Baptist Church of Canonsburg and the First Baptist Church of Bentleyville.
Due to limited facilities and increasing growth, In March 1991, the church purchased five acres of land on its present site on Cameron Road. Through prayer and God's goodness, Allison Avenue Baptist Church moved to its new location in January 2000 with a new name, Abundant Life Baptist Church (ALBC), and a fresh excitement to reach many people for Jesus.
During the years since, many people have have come to know Jesus and have grown in their faith through the various ministries of ALBC.
Under the leadership of Pastor Robb Williams, we are looking ahead to continue the impassioned ministries of ALBC with a desire to glorify God in all we do (I Corinthians 10:31). We endeavour to continue to love one another (John 13:35) and to remain committed to reach as many people as we can with the compassion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
Here at ALBC we are committed to glorify God, love one another, and reach as many people as possible with the compassion of Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:31; John 13:35; Matthew 28:19-20).
Each Sunday we gather to celebrate God by worshipping him and being challenged from God's Word.
We would love to have you drop in Sunday at 10:30 AM.
Our church family can be described as inter-generational. We love to have children along with parents and grandparents, shoulder to shoulder, celebrating God and growing together in their faith.
We sincerely want to be known as a church that loves people and welcomes everyone!
At Abundant Life Baptist Church, we believe in taking our faith beyond the walls of our church and into the world.
We are involved in a variety of local and global outreach programs, from feeding the hungry to supporting missionaries around the world.
