We were refreshed by God’s grace, but it is not over. It now says “Therefore”. Being in god's grace is not the end, it is the beginning. Indeed, we are refreshed by God's grace ... therefore .... I Peter 1:13-25.

Let’s make sure that we do not leave our direction in life to daily chance, but rather, let’s grab hold of what we know God wants us to do, and set our course. Let's enjoy our privileges in Jesus, while also accepting our responsibilities. I Peter 2:1-12.

It is kind of nice to walk around as if no one is dependent upon us, but the truth is that we all have “sheep eyes” on us every day of our life. Although we mostly feel like sheep ourselves (we all suffer, we all struggle) we are also all called to care for others. Let’s see what Peter has to say about how we are to be “like a good shepherd.” I Peter 5:1-4.

Peter has taught us to rejoice through suffering and not to be surprised by it. He taught us that it can increase our satisfaction in God (or not). In this final appeal to best handle suffering, Peter gives us three final thoughts. As we all suffer from here, let’s do it in the spirit of Peters teachings and example. I Peter 5:5-14.
